I added a couple of extra @jetboil items recently. I added a couple of extra @jetboil items recently. Firstly a JetGauge to know when I’m about to run out of fuel and have a spare ready. I do always carry a spare but it’s better to be prepared. I’d rather run out of gas on a brew rather than warming up breakfast. Secondly a Crunchit to get rid of those empty canisters in the recycling.

They work really well although I was a bit concerned that the JetGauge had cross threaded and I couldn’t initially get the canister on it. I had to run a 7/16 tap on it to clear the thread (EN417). I couldn’t do the same with the Crunchit due to the pin that releases any remaining gas so I was relived when I finally got an empty can that it screwed right on.

Unexpected travel disruption leads to Pre-Adventure

Pre-adventure is having to make changes on the fly before departure. Is this classed as part of the adventure? If you accept, as I do, that the planning is part of the journey then the answer is yes. Planning – Revision 1 I previously wrote about the planning for the next trip to the Picos, […]
