With XRT looking to dominate the field again we see that bonus points can really make the difference with Terryfied taking the lead after dropping a hole in one on the par 4 17th at Oakmount. So with mid-table and top of the table looking unsurprisingly familiar we look to the fresh blood at the bottom of the table looking for the most improved newcomer going into round II.

The onset of autumn has brought about a fresh wave of enthusiasm for the UGVX competitions with invites being sent out for season 5. We also see a host of first time players, amybe even our next star to worry Gooseyboy and XRT. Season 5 also sees GrimlyFiendish dusting off his clubs after his break from the game.

A change of computer left the site updates few and far between while I got things back up to speed. Now that I have all things back in place I have updated the site with season 3 results.

An unusually small turnout for the commencement means that there are a few people who will have some ground to make up. Yours truly was among the no shows but made ammends by having a game of 'real' golf and on only my 29th hole played got my first birdie! It has to be said I lost as many balls as I do in Links!

After agreeing to maintain the four round format the round set up as UGVX 2 RND V becomes the first round of season 3.

After a clean run of votes it has been decided that Kapalau Plantation can be included in the schedule. With 21 votes cast we have a 86% majority of people who already have the course, 5% who don't have it but are willing to get it and the 9% who said no have since changed their minds. With a no show from Gooseyboy looking like the only chance the following pack have of knocking off his number one spot the attention turns to the second, third and fourth place activity. The standings have been adjusted to remove all inactive players from this season which in a way has shot me in the foot as it puts me in place for the wooden spoon. That's what you get for forgeting to play round 1 and 3! Only a good show in the final round will help me escape the shame and ridicule.

Finally.. the long awaited update for the new season. Thanks to Gooseyboy for updating the score sheet. We have changed the scoring and bonus structure and this is detailed on the results page.

We have a winner for the inaugural season of the UGVX golf championship. The honours go to Gooseyboy despite GrimlyFiendish putting in a strong challenge with two round wins.

After the false start of Round IV with the wrong finish dates being commissioned the 'proper' round has been set up. For those who are unaware the previous false round was considered a practice session.

Well done Gooseyboy who gets 120 points for the win and 30 bonus points for the longest drive and the most eagles. Doyler also comes charging out of nowhere with a fantastic 50 bonus points for the first hole in one we have seen in the competition.

Well done GrimlyFiendish who gets 120 points for the win and 10 bonus points for most greens in regulation. A notable 20 bonus points goes to FourFootOne (who also takes 10 points for greens in regulation) for an amazing 7 Eagles.

After much deliberation on the dreaded INC situation it has been decided that one INC will count as an average of the other three rounds, two or three INCs gets a nominal 5 points and four INCs counts as a no show and gets 0 points. This decision has not been reached lightly but consideration needs to go to the admin of the scoring which can end up a full time job! I have my rounds to play! :-) A copy of the scoring and skills spreadsheet can be downloaded from the bottom of the standings table if you are interested.

To get the skill league up and running can everyone download either the xls or csv file and fill in the stats from your XSN profile (not the competition stats) and mail to stats@redsmartie.com. This would be a great help and would save me much time.
