An old article but non the less worthy of a posting especially as its from the BBC. The very same BBC that is championing DRM in the iPlayer, doing a great job pointing out the futile uselessness of DRM.
Go figure.

I’ve been well voiced in the past on the iPlayer but despite this I’ve not had need to use it since the streaming sticking plaster offering. That was until now.

I kind of think that the BBC miss the point of covering football matches having sat through Aston Villa v Manchester United on Match of the Day last night. Through much of the match we were constantly reminded that it wasn’t the best of matches by John Motson and Mark Lawrenson spitting their dummies out [...]

That’s the only words that you can use for the BBC’s iPlayer offering for Mac users. It’s obvious that while effort and expenditure has been put into the Windows version the Flash streaming option is nothing more than a sticking plaster. A solution to get them off the hook of their responsibilities to licence payers [...]

I’ve just checked. Winter officially starts on 22nd December 2007 at 6:08 GMT. This means that, apart from Christmas being around the corner, the BBC have less than a month to meet the promised autumn release for the iPlayer.
