14 miles in under an hour with plenty left in my tank. My backside hasn’t given me any grief with the saddle but I did experience a bit of cramp in my bum cheek that I managed to peddle off. I think its because I was trying to power the whole stroke rather than just [...]
I’ve found myself picking through stats more than I’m doing actually riding. It is fun though and also a little bit frightening when you map the runs I’m going to be doing. Its not exactly flat This is another view of yesterdays training route
… I’ll either be elated to dead. If all goes according to plan I will have completed the two stages of The Great Tour that I’m committed to. I’ll be keeping up the training but for the first time I know I can do it (as opposed to believing its possible). I’m just back from [...]
I’ll try and keep these interesting and not just daily “I did x miles in x minutes” rinse, repeat and repost with different figures. Suffice to say that I’m keeping up with regular rides. I decided to fully commit to the ride and buy a new bike. I’m going to be taking the old Diamondback [...]

As I mentioned on my last post I’ve ditched my previous app in favour of Cyclemeter and on an initial test it looks good. Performance feels great and its packed with features. I like how it can auto tweet my progress and the detail that can be reported on is quite granular. I need to [...]
I’ve been relatively quiet lately. Not only on this blog but quiet on Twitter too. Having taken a couple of weeks out recently to visit sunnier places of the world I opted to avoid roaming data and just use the occasional wifi. The result was a reduced level of communication that hasn’t seem to have [...]
As if by magic, the shopkeeper appeared. As if I don’t need anything else to get involved with and take up my time I’ve been bit with the old aviation bug again. That said its not as daft as I would have myself believe as it rolls up a number of interests of mine. I [...]
My VPN problem has been resolved. I came home yesterday to find my network dead and my DHCP pool missing. Amid a host of flashing lights and APIPA addresses I unravelled the problem and got everything back up and running. O2 had remotely applied firmware 7.4.20.5 to my router but still I had no VPN. [...]
It may as well be a murder mystery. I’ve killed the best part of a week on this and I’m still without a satisfactory resolution. The story goes like this. I rely upon a VPN connection to access the office from home. I don’t use it all the time but when something goes wrong and [...]
