Sky Anytime

I just spotted an email sat in my junk mail folder from Sky touting their new Sky Anytime player. The small print at the bottom amused me.

“PC with Microsoft Windows XP or Vista or Mac with compatible virtualisation software required.”

So that would be XP and Vista them and you just wanted to get a mention of the Mac in as a cop out :)

Maybe they went on the demographic of the userbase they were advertising to and realised that they weren’t cleverer enough to know that they could run windows under a VM on the mac. I say good on sky for letting their potential these people know!

It is kind of missing the point though. They could have also said “Linux with compatible virtualisation software” but their service still remains Windows only.

Linux isn’t nearly as mainstream as OSX is though, so I’m guessing if they had the space they probably would have said linux too, but because they didn’t want to have a 500 paragraph on virtualisation software underneath the ad they just stuck to the Mac line :P

Also you should watch e17 of BBT, its frcking ace! :)

Are you saying that I’m mainstream?!!!!

Oh no!… THE VIRUSES ARE COMING!!!!!!!!1111111!!!!!!!! ;)
