Bill – “There are no Macs in my house”

Microsoft has always had a mixed reception and have been the but of many a joke but of late there seems to be an increased level of criticism. See the recent responses to the BBC interview and an amusing article here. This could perhaps be levelled at Vista user venting their frustrations, or perhaps its a realisation that Microsoft is losing the plot.

Either way it is making people aware that there are viable alternatives such as Linux and Mac OS X which can only be a good thing. Bill was quoted as saying “There are no Macs in my house” and I’m left thinking that perhaps there should be.

To quote the article linked above, I can think of no better way to sum up than the following

“My guess is that Gates’ keynote and vision of the future has a shelf life of exactly 10 days—the same 10 days between Gates’ presentation and Steve Jobs’ keynote next Tuesday.”
