Joost in time
Pete Calloway tipped me off about MarsEdit which was perfectly timed as I was about to pop a fuse and a good blog rant is a great way to let off steam.
I signed up for Joost the other day and got a beta invite within 30 minutes, which i was quite happy about. I was less than happy to find out that it was Intel only not an OSX Universal app. No, never mind less than happy, I was really, really pissed off about it. So to receive a mail earlier this evening reminding me that I’ve not registered the app rubbed me right up the wrong way. I left a “polite” message with their support and thought I’d see what others had to say in the forums.
As expected people weren’t happy but one post of which I shall quote lifted the stress levels even higher.

“Why would a company developing new technology take time out to make sure it works with old, outdated systems?
Should record labels have to release albums on 8-tracks or cassettes for the people who have that? I think not.
All current Apple computers use Intel chips, and they will never go back to the old PPC architecture. So why worry about it?”
I scrambled for the reply button to vent fire and brimstone on the poster only to find that not only could I not log in but Joost, who had only just mailed me, had no record of my mail address. Fuse .. *pop*
That’s when I saw Petes’ Post on my feed which caused enough of a distraction for me to calm down.
Thanks Pete.
If anyone wants to have a rant you will find the offending post here
