Do you know what today is?

I didn’t. At least not until a small article on the BBC news site pointed out that it was St. George’s day.

I could tell you when its St Patrick’s day or St David’s day, I’ve even got more chance of telling you when its Talk Like a Pirate day (which is September 19th incidentally) but I couldn’t have told you the date of the day where we celebrate our patron saint.

Fittingly enough the article point out this deficiency and goes on to point out that we don’t know what to do with the day anyway. So while I down much Guinness and wave daffodils on Ireland and Wales days respectively, today I’m at a loss.

Perhaps I’ll go down the pub and slay a dragon.

Seeing as how St George was Turkish, perhaps we should celebrate by going and having a kebab?

Works for me :)
