Or as Jayne puts it, “here comes the mid life
crisis”

When I set up on my own and handed back the new
A4 I had to get a car to see me over the first few months… 3 years later I
still had the old T reg A6. So much for my plans although I can’t really
complain as the A6 was a great car with a boot even large enough to handle the
bottle bank run on the heaviest of weeks of knocking back
vino.

Anywhoo I always promised myself
a TT but never had the guts to pick something as impractical. Having convinced
myself that most of the time the rear seats go unoccupied and I wouldn’t miss
them if they weren’t there I was ready to tentatively go and take a look in the
garage.

Most of the available cars were
in a dark blue which I hated and my choice was further limited to the fact that
I didn’t want a 180bhp what with only one exhaust and all. The stock of 225bhp
TT’s were a bit thin on the ground and I was about to leave it when I spotted a
glacier blue number with cream leather interior, 4 months old, hardly any miles
on it and best of all it was a 3.2 V6 250bhp. That’s all I needed to do.. the
deal was done and its now mine.
